MESSI GETS 21 MONTHS JAIL SENTENCE FOR TAX FRAUD

Current world footballer of the year Lionel Messi has been slammed with a suspended term by a spanish court.

This implies that if he must avoid spending time behind bars,he must pay hefty amount of several pounds as fine.

The spanish law states that any sentence under two years can be suspended,meaning Messi is expected
to avoid being held behind bars not even for a day according to reports.

The world most valuable football asset was tried alongside his father Jorge Horacio Messi for deceiving Spain tax authority of (4.1million Euros)between 2007 and 2009.

The just retired Argentine international has also been fined (1.7million pounds).
Messi was also accused of creating fake companies in Belize and Uruguay in other to avoid taxation on his lucrative image rights.He(Messi)maintained that he never suspected any abnormalities in his financial affairs that he left all  the paperwork to be handled by his father and his agent while he was busy with his football on the pitch.But the court has found both he and his father guilty of the alleged crime.

Jorge has also been given the same sentence as his son(Messi).They can appeal the sentence through the supreme court in Spain.
